International Classification of Diseases (ICD)
Derzeit gilt die 10. Auflage der Klassifikation. Die Ursprünge der ICD reichen bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts zurück. Ursprünglich nur als Liste der Todesursache geführt, übernahm die WHO 1948 die Fortführung und inkludierte auch Krankheitsursachen. Die Klassifikation gilt als Standard für alle diagnostischen und epidemiologischen Anwendungen im Gesundheitswesen. Die ICD ist in den sechs offiziellen WHO Sprachen verfügbar (Arabisch, Chinesisch, Englisch, Französisch, Russisch und Spanisch), wie auch in 36 anderen Sprachen.
